Hi! I’m Cheynice! I’m a born and raised Maui girl and for as long as I can remember, I was a competitive little spirit. I played soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, track and field and I loved dancing. I trained throughout my childhood towards a dream of becoming a professional athlete until the day I tore my ACL in my right knee just before graduating high school. Shortly after, I ruptured my meniscus in my other knee and the feeling was purely devastating.
A few years later, I made a new goal to become just another girl with abs. Within months, I went from Zumba, to getting a membership to the local 24 Hour Fitness. It wasn’t long until I got the abs I wanted, but at the same time I got convinced by some friends into competing in bodybuilding. I instantly fell in love with the sport for the mental and physical challenges of strength, the culture, and it’s community. Because of bodybuilding, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. I’m lifting weights that I never thought I could because of my injuries. I’ve learned so much about myself and I’m in the best physical shape of my life. It truly is a sport I’ve grown passionate about and I strongly believe that despite any circumstances one may face, bodybuilding can potentially bring out the best in an individual.
